Accessibility Statement
Accessibility of the uptain Software
In the development of our software, we place great importance on the greatest possible accessibility. The goal is to make its use as simple and accessible as possible for all people – regardless of their individual abilities. Within our technical and design possibilities, we have implemented the following measures to improve accessibility:
- Readability: All font sizes are set to at least 10 pt to ensure good readability.
- Contrasts: Colors and transparency settings have been chosen so that the contrast between text and background corresponds to at least the recommended ratio of 4.5:1.
- Structure and Context: Forms and interactive controls such as buttons are provided with clear, descriptive labels, so that the context is clearly understandable even when using screen readers.
- Alternative Texts: All relevant images, icons, and media objects – including decorative elements – have descriptive alternative texts or corresponding role designations to ensure accessible use.
We are continuously working to further improve existing functions and to design future developments to be accessible from the outset.
Accessibility of the Website uptain.de
uptain GmbH strives to make its website accessible in accordance with the national legislation implementing Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council. The relevant regulations are the German Equal Opportunities for People with Disabilities Act (BGG) and the Accessible Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0) in their currently valid versions.
This accessibility statement applies to the website www.uptain.de.
Status of Conformance with the Requirements
The accessibility requirements arise from §§ 3 paragraphs 1 to 4 and 4 of BITV 2.0, which was issued on the basis of § 12d BGG. The verification of compliance with the requirements is based on a self-assessment carried out on June 24, 2025. Based on this review, the website is partially compliant with the aforementioned requirements. The contents listed below are not or only partially accessible for the reasons stated.
Currently Possible and Partially Known Barriers
Within the scope of our previous tests and technical possibilities, the following barriers have been partially identified or are considered potentially relevant:
- Alternative Texts: Some images contain no or insufficient alternative text, especially in linked graphics or with repetitive texts.
- PDF Documents: Some PDF documents offered for download are not fully accessible.
- Media Content: Embedded media objects (e.g., videos or audio files) currently do not contain subtitles or audio descriptions.
- Forms: Form fields are sometimes incorrectly labeled or not clearly programmatically associated. Structural elements such as fieldsets for groups of inputs are also partially missing.
- Links: Several adjacent links can lead to the same destination address, which can lead to redundancies for screen reader users.
- Readability: In some places, the contrasts could be insufficient or text areas could use very small font sizes, which makes readability difficult for visually impaired users.
- Clarity: In some places, underlined text is used that can be misinterpreted as a link.
We are working to gradually remove the mentioned barriers and to design new content to be accessible from the beginning.
Disproportionate Burden
For our company, the immediate full implementation of all technical requirements currently represents a disproportionate burden within the meaning of the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG). Nevertheless, we are continuously implementing measures to improve accessibility.
Preparation of this Accessibility Statement
